By today Monday April 23rd of 2012 we have already started our project.
The 22nd of March we started the project. We choose our groups, we signed in the contract and choose our roles. In my group I am the sound eingeneer, and Mateo Ospina is the editor, Andrés Ortiz the director and Tomás Pontón is the producer. So far I expect this project to be fun, but it is also going to be hard because of the time, which is to few. Also we are going to have to film very quickly in order to have time to edit and make a good movie. We don´t have any ideas by know but I´m sure they will come along.
The 26th of march we started to have a more clear idea on what we were going to do. We brainstormed some ideas for our movies. Each of us came with a different ideas for what we could do. We may choose ours because it is a really good idea and it may be easy to make.
The 29th of March I wrote my movie idea and a scene in the movie. It was entitled "Blue Street Hooligans" which was based on "Green Street Hooligans". Mi idea was basically about the firms in Colombia and a little conflict between them. My friends had also great ideas but in the end we ended up doing none of the ideas.
On the 16th & 17th of April we saw some of the movies done by the past years. Clearly the quality of films has increased throughout time. The movies were really good, they were all really good ideas. What all of them had in common is that the dialogue is very short, there isn´t very much dialogue in the movies. People prefer to use songs and music to show the tone of the movie. Also some people have some issues with the lighting. Some movies had scenes which were too dark and the face expressions were not clear enough. This is a thing we can work on. In general the sound effect are good, the music is appropriate for the movie and you can hear the people speaking. The acting is also good. Like not too much dialogue is used, the face expression must be good and the acting must be good. Most movies had good acting but sometimes they exaggerated the acting, which made it a little bit bad. The genre in some movies is not clear so it makes the movie confusing. The editing and direction are good, people are very creative in terms of camera angle, and I think we can make a good movie with what we have seen from the past years.
The 18th of April we had a meeting for the movie. Students from past years told us their experience about the movie. They told us that time is essential and gave us important tips that I´m sure we will use in the future. After this we gathered with our group and discussed our idea. We are going to make a detective movie (which it wasn´t any of the initial ideas). It is great the idea. When we got home, we each wrote a scene of the movie, because we can´t waste any time in this project. There are about 5 scenes and we used the tip the groups gave us which was to use few dialogue. I expect the movie to be a great success as it is a very good idea and I think no one has done it before and no one will do it this year.
The 19th of April we gathered in class with our groups. We made a schedule of what we are going to do in the following week. I am really concerned about time because there isn´t too much. We also wrote a little bit about the movie and we gave it a name: "Acts of The Unspeakable". Another thing that has me worried is that we haven´t started filming, but at the end of this week we hope to finish scenes one and two.
Up until know the project is fine. we have to see how it will end.
