This week the film term completely ended. The Oscar's night gave an end to this whole film project. I must say the Oscar's were quite enjoyable. I enjoyed them a lot. Although later there was some controversy, it was really fun seeing everyone very elegant and parts of films. The awards were mostly fair, but some of them, in my own opinion, were not. Some people didn't deserved the Oscar, but what there is nothing I can do about it. It was a very cool night and I had a really good time.
This project can be summarized in one word for me, fun. Although there was a hard work while making the movie, it was really fun making. My whole group had a great time. My group and I think that we all worked really hard. All of us, without one this project couldn't have been possible. My work in my group was really good. I always collaborated with what I could, and there as always something I could do. I helped in every aspect, I brought my camera, brought my cloths and other implements used during the course of the film, I brought also very good ideas which the director sometimes agreed on using, and many more things. Those were things I did while filming. I was 110% active and putting my best effort in order to make this film. In other words, I clearly putted my grain of sand in this project. I also suggested to participate as a cast member and suggested some of the actors to be included. While filming I was always aware of the sound. I always thought ahead of everyone, what could be a good place to film, will the people be heard while they speak, is there too much wind, where can the gunshot go and etc.
While working with the editor, my work and also his were also remarkable. We worked together in order to chose songs, sound effects and everything. The music was chosen mostly by me but my friends collaborated a lot in that as well. The sound effect were really good, we got some place were we could download them and putted in the movie. With the editor we worked hard in order to synchronize the effect and the songs and everything. Something hard about the music were the changes, we had to cut the video into piece in order to gradually put the volume down in the song so that in didn't sound bad, and that toked a lot of time. But we managed to do it. My work was very good, and it is clearly shown in the movie. All of the members worked well and it was really good working with them. I think I would give myself a 7. I worked really hard for this film and I deserve it. I know there were some mistakes and that it was not perfect, but we are not pros and besides the finals result was really good. All of what I said before are examples of why I should get that grade.
We had a lot of fun during this project. It was really good. And like i've said before, we were motivated to do it. Some people who usually never do a thing, were working really hard to produce the film. It was a really good project which we had a lot of fun. Also the Oscars were great. The awards, the clips, the movies showed were really good. A lot of work was put behind that and I think everyone is really thankful with it.

This week was clearly the more agitating one. I must say even though it was a really hard project, I really enjoyed making it. It is one of those projects were we are doing something we like, and that motivated me on working harder on the project. This week we had to move really fast in order to finish the movie. We set up with our main character to finish filming on Monday. He couldn't, so he proposed to film on Saturday when the project was to hand in on Friday. Somehow we managed to shoot the film on Wednesday and start editing the movie as soon as we finished. We then edited in 3 classes on Thursday and then on the editor's house we again edited. We finished to edit but we had a lot of troubles with passing the audio to the DVD, so we had to make voice notes and putted them on top of the recordings. Thankfully it just happened for the first scene. We handed in the project on time
The project was a really good experience. As I said before, we were motivated to keep on filming as we were doing something we enjoyed. We had a really good time filming the movie. It was great, we laughed like 70% of the time. We chose the best actors for our movie. Our main character as a serial killer was great. For me this was awesome to do because it was also something we hadn't done before, so sometimes we were lost and didn't know what to do, so we just improvised but we got some really got stuff. Our movie turned out to be great. "Acts of The Unspeakable" fulfilled my objectives. What we managed to do in so short time and without any experience (as no one in the group knew very much about film making) was really great.
The project tought me a lot of things. The first one was the kind of shots. Without that theory lesson we would have committed a lot of mistakes in the film making. We would probably had sucked making the movie. The project also mad me realize the work behind a movie. Obviously before this I appreciated it and knew all the hard work of it, but know, know I have a different point of view towards the making of a movie, and the last couples of movie I have seen I find myself all the time looking at things like shots, music or the performance by the actors and it is all really good. This also tought me the hard work behind a movie. We only made 10 minutes, but we lasted 3 weeks. So I keep thinking how movies that are " hours long manage to shoot and edit. So with this project I have basically learned to appreciate more the cinema, I have learned about shots a lot and I have learned that it is good to schedule what we are going to do and yo have a backup plan, because sometimes things don't turn out the way you expected them.
I didn't had any frustrations, or many frustrations with the film making. Sometimes with the main actor who wasn't fully committed but I can't blame him, he is not part of the group and can't get nominated for an award so it is comprehensible but it really pissed me of sometimes. Another thing that frustrated me was sometimes having to shoot the same scene for 45 times. It was really annoying not to get the correct shot, or that because a simple move we had to shot the scene again. Sometime we laughed wile making the scenes and it was really annoying, but it was funny at the same time, so it was cool. Something that made me sad rather than annoying me was not getting any nomination. It was sad that all your hard work isn't as good as others just because the movie is explicit. But there is nothing I can do about it but, and I am actually looking forward to the Oscar night. My group's main objective when making the movie was to make people laugh, and we clearly managed it. Getting nominated or winning would have been something extra, though I must confess it was sad not see a nomination in either of the 6 categories.
The Oscar's Night is going be great. I am really looking forward to it. To see some of the other's people movies and seeing everyone dressed very formally is going to be great. Clearly I am not as excited as the groups that got nominated (for obvious reasons) but still, it will be fun and I am sure I am going to get surprised in the event. Something tells me that I am going to be surprised in the event, but who knows, we must wait. For know only getting cool dresses with my group and inviting people to the event is my priority.

Third Entry
This week we have also been working hard. We have been mostly editing, which is the harder part, more harder than filming, which surprises me because I thought it was gonna be the other way around. The only day we recorded last week was on Thursday May 3rd. We had a really tight schedule that day, given that we filmed in the cubicles of the music rooms, and they only gave us 1 hour to use. But we manage to do it and the scene ended up being really good. We have to shot one more film, and we will do it tomorrow. That scene, we recorded two week ago, but it was at night and the light is awful, the expression in the faces is really bad, so we decided it was better to shoot that scene again. The editing is coming really good. We already have four minutes edited (except for the sound) and we are missing two more scenes to edit. The sound is not really a concern to me. The movie has a good sound quality considering the lack of microphones, and the songs are already selected and I found this program where I can download different sound effects such as a gunshot, which are needed for the movie.
The producers had their guidance last week. They were told a trailer has to be done plus a web page and a poster. The idea of the poster is cool and I am looking forward to it. The web page and the trailer are the things which concern me and bother me a little bit. There is really few time to create a webpage and a trailer. The trailer could be both easy or hard. Depending on the editor and director and on how fast we can choose the scenes for the trailer. The scenes can take to much time to select as well as the music to accompany it. The web page I honestly don't know how we will do it, or at what time, but we will have to figure something out in order to create the page. We will have to organize ourselves in time.
In class time we finished watching "The Birds" by Alfred Hitchcock. I liked the movie a lot. It was really good. The shots were great. They were an excellent combination of what we studied previously in class. This shows that a combination of all the shots is needed in movies. Another thing was the sound. There was only one part when they showed music, and it was some children singing like in a choir. The sound effects were also really good. The bird sounds were very good and things like the explosion or the car were also excellent. Things like the birds, the blood or the background were very fake fake. But considering the year the movie was made, the effect are really well made. The only thing I didn't like and that I hate about those type of movies is that they leave you with why that thing happened? Why did the birds attacked? That was the only thing I didn't liked about the movie. He clearly managed to create suspense in the movie, it is excellent.
Our movie is coming out good, and I hope people really like it. I have seen some movies of friends and I really doubt I might win or my group might win an Oscar, but with people liking my movie I will be satisfied.

Second Entry
The film is coming out good. We have advanced a lot in our project. By today 2nd of May, we have advanced a lot. We have recorded most of the film, but we haven't edited anything by now. Time isn´t a concern anymore because we are already finishing recording and we have plenty of time to edit. Editing is what now has me concerned. By looking at the recordings there is too much to do and it has really concerned. Although I am not the editor this has me really intrigued. The sound editing is going to be cool, and I am actually looking forward to it. While recording the movie I have been always thinking what music and what sound effects are going to be needed, so I have an idea on how to do it. I will work with the editor for this job to have a good edition.
So this week we did many things. on Thursday April 27th, Tomas (producer) and me went to buy the implements, like fake hair, red chinese ink that we used as blood, fake mustaches (although we didn't use it) and some other stuff. On Saturday April 28th we started recording. We literally travelled across Bogota to film in the different settings. It was fun but it took a lot of time. Firstly we recorded the first scene, in the outsides of the city. We took a really long time because for one part of the scene we couldn't stop laughing. Our main character makes really funny faces, so it was really hard not to laugh. It toked a long time but we made it, and then we went to Chico ti record some other scenes. This ones were quicker to record and in the end the final result was also very good.
In english class we have been watching "The Birds" and we have studied different kinds of shots to record. From the 23rd of April to today we have been doing this. "The Birds" is a very interesting movie. It has a lot of suspense, because you know why some things are happening, like the attacking of the birds and stuff like that. I have been noticing a lot in the sound. In class we saw that microphones are recommended, but we decide it is better like, because we don't waste to much money and the sound is not to bad. I have noticed that the movie doesn't have any background music at all. But the mood is created by different factors. This is weird to me because I am used to hear music of any kind in movies. Another thing I've noticed is that the dialogue between the characters is very clear and there are always bird sounds in the background, but when there is dialogue it is still clear. We can see that sound effect like birds crashing or the engine of the car are very good. They are clear and sound very good. Hitchcock uses a lot of shots in this movie, he varies them a lot. Background images in the movie are photos, which look very fake, but it didn't bothered me.
We have been also looking at filming theory, in a site called video101.com. We have looked at the different kinds of shots that can be made while recording. We have used many of them, we have used high angle, close up, extreme close up, medium shot, long shot and others. A thing that really help was the advice of not zooming. Before starting recording we thought on doing it but it was better not to. We actually did it on one scene but it was a little bit and it didn't look to bad, so we decided to leave it, but we are not going to do it anymore. What we have studied about shots has been applied while recording. It has been really useful and we have learned a lot. Without this guidance we wouldn't have done any of this, so it was a very good advice.
